What happens if sale of asset does not realise enough for all bequests?

Sorry if title too long..
Am involved in a situation whereby a house has to be sold as stipulated in a will. There are a number of beneficiaries named in the will, each with an actual monetary amount (as opposed to a percentage amount). The total value of the bequests has added up to more than the valuation the estate agent has put on the house..What may happen if the house sells for less than the total value of the bequests - do the beneficiaries named in the latter part lose out? Am I making sense:confused:

Unless the will provides otherwise, everybody shares the pain in proportion to his or her bequest.

If the estate realises €60k after paying debts and costs, and the bequests come to €100k, then everybody gets 60% of the amount bequested.
