what am i entitled to claim for

hi there i was made redundant on 16th of april 09.i did not receive any money because iwas only in the job 6 months. my wife is in receipt of an invalidity pension and i have signed on for jobseekers benefit.i have two kids and a morgtage of €800 per month. i have not received any money yet from the social welfare. i just need some advice on what i am entitled to claim for and how do i go about it. many thanks.

You are entitled to the Interest paid on your mortgage, the community welfare officer will arrange this. Contact citizens information and they will give you advice on this. You may be entitled to the Household Benefits package also, with your wife on invalidity I don't see why you shouldn't get it. You may also be entitled to Family Income Supplement. The citizens informations have all the booklets on this.

Family Income Supplement is only paid to persons working over 19 hours per week.
