Waterside, New Ross (S.23)

Does anyone know what is the current state of this section 23 development in New Ross. It is developed by Ellen construction. Have they let any of the apartments yet or are they still building it?

To my knowledge, Waterside is not renting very well at all. This is possibly due to a couple of factors.!

1. There are a huge amount of apartments available for rental in that area. The Moorings seem to be the most popular and probably has the highest occupancy.

2. There are no real parking spaces with Waterside although I believe there is currently an option to rent a space across the road in The Moorings.

3. Houses still lead the rental market field in New Ross.

4. None of the commercial units are occupied either.

None of the retail units in the waterside have been let which is not good. The building overhangs the street which gives a terrible impression.

The chemist accross the street from the waterside has just closed down due to lack of business. The apartments in the waterside went on sale initially and all were subsequently withdrawn from sale by the developer for a couple of months. Not really sure what was going on.
The resturant in the waterside has recently closed down.

A much better bet is Rosbercon court. The development has sold out but one or two may be still available.
