hi guys,

water keeps flowing from the cistern in my toilet into the toilet bowl so the cistern never fills up. any ideas to remedy this? thanks

Check that the ballcock is not stuck down and also that if it has risen that the water valve shuts off totally.

Also check that the syphon is not jammed open and also that the diaphragm is not perished or split.
 
the ballcock is fine. pardon my ignorance but what and where are the syphon and diaphram? thank you.

here's a pic, but there are many types around. See the little hook the handle pull this up which in turn pulls up a diaghpram inside the syphon (the large white plastic unit)

Just check its not stuck and can move up and down.

Flush it again. It may correct itself.
 
Hi guys,

took your advice and removed the syphon and checked the diaphragm . I made sure it was secure and tightly closed back the syphon. Result? End of dripping! Thank you all once again.
