Hi,

I want to get a roman blind for my kitchen window and also cream venetian blinds for my patio door (not sliding). Should I get the roman blind also in cream to match the venetian blinds?

My kitchen has shaker style kitchen units and just painted the walls cream and I also got cream porcelain tiles. Its lovely and bright but now worried that it looks bland. Would love to get a colour on the blind but would it look ok with the cream venetians?

Sorry but have no clue as this is my first house.

Thanks

If you feel the place looks a bit bland now then adding more cream will only make it more so. If you feel an urge for colour you should go with your instincts and get a colourful blind.

Incidentally, is there a reason you're getting Venetian blinds in particular for the doors? If you don't need extra privacy during the day then you could probably get roller blinds to match your window blind so they would match.

I think you should get whatever colour you like as in case you weren't aware we cant see your kitchen from here. Bad light me thinks !!

Need more privacy as I have a very nosy neighbour dubgem

Hey mercman, I've put the lights on. Can you see my kitchen now? Hee...Hee....

Thanks for the replies :)

I can't see the kitchen yet either :)
2 things:
1. in a kitchen I would definitely get a washable/wipeable blind type and would be more inclined to go for venetian - maybe metallic
2. I got gorgeous metallic bright red blinds from myblinds.ie - they're not the cheapest, but they were well well worth it

Good luck!

If you got a blind, e.g. with variations of creams, yellows, browns, maybe a bit of red thrown in...it would hide any stains and could still be used if you chose to vary the colour of your kitchen.

Just be aware if its a south facing window a strong coloured fabric will bleach out along its daylight position.

Black out backing might prevent this...but it would be less obvious in a lighter colour.

Hi guys,

Thanks for your suggestions. Much appreciated. emmt, good idea, think I will go for something like that.

Cheers!
