I joined VHI recently for the first time & the lady told me she would waive the 6 months waiting period. What does this mean. Its only word of mouth, would I need further confirmation. I am 30 years & heathy.

Hi hillbloom,

Welcome to AAM. When a person joins VHI as a new customer, they usually have to serve a six month initial waiting time before hospital cover
is fully covered. During this waiting time, only injuries and accidents are normally covered.

So, as a concession in your case, they have verbally agreed to waiving( not apply) this waiting time. In effect, this means that all new illnesses are fully covered for hospital treatment or surgery, from day 1 of the policy.

If this information was said to you during a phone call with VHI, they record all phone calls so there would be no need to get further
confirmation.
