Hi,

I am moving home to Ireland from the UAE with my British partner, given the advantage of buying in the UK over Ireland (value for money and spec) - I was hoping to purchase a vehicle in the UK availing of her British address and citizenship and transfer it home thereafter

What are the requirements to avoid the payment of VRT upon bringing the car to Ireland?

6 months of ownership before you bring it in.

Your partner may qualify if she moves to Ireland having been resident in the UK. For a number of reasons, I don't believe you qualify.
