Hi,
I purchased a small diesel car from Northern Ireland in a private sale with no V5c log book, the car is roadworthy. I then brought the car to Lurgan in NI where I successfully obtained a (VIC) Vehicle Identity Check. I then applied to the (DVA) Driver & Vehicle Agency in NI for a V5c log book, they then informed me that as the car was originally registered in Great Britain I would have to apply to the Driver and Vehicle Licenceing Agency (DVLA) in Swansea for this document. I subsequently did this and was told that as I was importing the car into the Rep of Ireland that I needed to apply for a Permanent Export Certificate. However due to the fact that the vehicle had Cat C damage the only document I can obtain is a V963 Vehicle Salvage Export Certificate which I have obtained. When checking with Revenue and NCT websites they state that this cert cannot be used to register a vehicle in the country. I have contacted Revenue numbers on a few occasions but no one seems to know what to do. On contacting the NCT website they refer me to Revenue !
Is there any way I can register this car for VRT in the country with only A receipt, the Vehicle Salvage Cert and a VIC ?
Thanks
