Voluntary NIC Shortfall

I studied & worked part time in NI from Feb 2008- March 2012 & have 4 years NI contributions.
Post 18 months of communication, I finally got confirmation letter. However the years 2007-11 are being charged as Class 2 with amounts ranging from 600-824 per annum.
I have paid 12 years at Class 2 from 2012-2024.
Is it worth writing to challenge the 2008-12 or are these 4 years already included as my qualifying years eg are these added to the 12 I paid & whatever I subsequently pay?
Appreciate if those of you who really understand this and have helped me so much navigate this, could advice. Very happy to donate to Samaritan’s - wonderful idea

600-824 per annum.
I have not worked in UK since early 80's. I paid Class 3 for 07-12. All of those years were St£824.20 for me

For above years , you have paid some weeks of UK NI, but not a full year. eg for the year with £600 remaining, you probably worked about 3 months (a summer job from college?) and they want you to pay the shortfall to get a full year of pension credit.

Unless you think, they have made a mistake in the amount of time you actually worked, an appeal may not be successful. You can check the weeks worked in the HMRC app. But there is no harm in trying an appeal.

The good news is you have 12 years at Class 2 plus 3 added free years everyone gets, means you are up to 15 years. You need 35 for a full UK pension. If you have 20 years left until retirement, and you intend to keep working in Ireland, you will continue to qualify for Class 2. You may not need these more expensive Class 3 years.

Thank you both so much. Yes, it was part time work but I do think it is all being included as there were a couple of employers/ agencies. Will see if I can access records on app.
Guess I am confused as to how they have calculated I have 4 full years contributions but are then saying there is a shortfall.
Will send some paperwork off & see if I can get another couple of years at Class 2
