A move isn't on the cards just yet, I updated the firmware and did everything that I could think of but still no joy. It doesn't seem to be anything wrong with Vodafone but something has happened to my sim and for some reason basically the sim isn't working.
I'll give Vodafone a shout today and get this fix.
Have you tried putting your SIM card into another phone (one that is unlocked or on the Vodafone network)? It could be the SIM card as you mentioned, or it could be the antenna on the phone - Vodafone will probably ask you to do this when you call them - this way you can see if it's your phone or the SIM is the problem.
I'm in South Dublin about a long stone's throw from Vodafone itself and have had this problem twice so far, and strangely enough with an SEK800i. Saturday at 1.15 specifically and another time a few weeks prior. It eventually came back after about 10 minutes - couldn't select any network, couldn't even change from 3G to other Vodafone network. If you're still without network and can't try another handset take your phone to the nearest Vodafone shop they can check it out there.
I rang Vodafone this morning and they said that as I expected a SIM card problem. I went to the local vodafone store and got a new SIM. Came back to work and I was connected to Vodafone again but now I couldn't send texts, make calls so I ran Vodafone again.
I'm glad to say that the problem is sorted. Thanks for all your advice.
