just wondered, i used my ulster visa debit up north, and was wondering what these charges are.
£53.50 purchase, rate 0.8678 (which would be €61.65 )
charge 0.62,ertf 0.62, total € 62.89, so does that mean i am charged an extra € 1.24, for this transaction ?
would i be better off so, taking cash from machine, or would i still be charged extra.

Simple answer is yes, you're charged more for any transaction that isn't in Euro. Exchange rate fees and charges.

Taking cash from an ATM also costs more: however, Ulster Bank customers can use Ulster Bank, Royal Bank of Scotland and Natwest ATM's to withdraw cash in the UK without charge.
