A friend worked part time for a very small company. She lives and works from the country and the company's address and phone number are Dublin based. Up to now to get around the phone issue she has a mailbox on the number and then gets messages and call people back. However, the number cannot be used anymore as the office has been sold along with the telephone system. Rather than inform clients that the number has changed to a county one she would like to keep a Dublin number and continue to get messages from the mailbox. Is there any way of doing this without physically have a phone in Dublin and paying Eircom a connection fee and monthly rental. Hope this is clear.....

If they have broadband they could use a VOIP provider, such as Blueface etc.

She could still get something like a blufeace dublin geographic number, and have both voicemail on it, and have it forwarded to her local number. Fixed call cost as all calls to irish numbers are free, so the diverted calls would nto cost more than the subscription. Might make more sense to get a BB connection though,
