video to dvd transfer query

hi all

will soon have to transfer a valued family wedding video to dvd due to the tape quality starting to suffer.
is it possible when on dvd to "re-edit" the footage to make it clearer/sharper and to remove moments of shaky camera work ?

Best thing to do is to clean up and edit on a computer in a lossless AVI format before you re-encode to the DVD format (MPEG2).

If you try to enhance after encoding quality will suffer and you may lose lip-sync.
