Just wondering if Snowyb would be kind enough to help me with renewal decision.
Three's adults - two in sixties and 30 year old daughter - currently on VHI PMI 3613.
Is this the best value for the cover we get?
Very grateful for any feedback.

Hi Barton Junior,

Welcome to AAM.
The following 2 VHI plans are good alternative options worth considering;

The following 2 Laya plans are good alternative options worth considering;

1. Laya Inspire Plan; price 1140pa; all public, private and 3 hi-tech hospitals covered, private/hi-tech excess 150 per admission and day case
excess 50 per procedure. Good day to day cover included, 50% refund for gp, consultant visits, etc. 80% cover for hip and knee replacement
surgery in private hospitals.

2. Laya Simply Connect plan; price 1230pa; all public, private and 3 hi-tech hospitals covered, private/hi-tech excess capped at 150 x 2 max per
year for all admissions, day case excess 50 per procedure. Good day to day cover included, 50% refund for consultants, gp, dental etc.
There is full cover for hip and knee replacement surgery in private hospitals. This plan would be suitable for the parents in their sixties.

The majority of VHI plans have 80% cover for hip and knee replacement surgery in private/hi-tech hospitals. The 20% shortfall would cost 2k or 3k
per surgery. The way to avoid this charge is to have surgery in Blackrock Clinic, as they do not pass this shortfall charge onto the patient.
