I, for one, am glad that this braying donkey was demoted. This can only be a good thing for FG and Irish Politics.

Much like the rationale for the whole FG party, he is mired in the parish pump politics of the deep dark past of our country.

At least it shows a genuine interest in shaking things up within the party.

With all the shawow-cabinet losses that FG suffered in the last election, you would think that a senior figure like Ring would get a senior portfolio. The fact that he hasn't suggests that Kenny is taking the whole thing seriously and making a game attempt to give fresh, genuine talent a chance.

This can only be good for politics, no matter which party you support.
