Very old tv - use with PS2?

I have an old TV that I want to set up for using with a PlayStation2.
PS has 3 connectors - red, white, yellow, i think these are for audio, right and left?
The TV has no scart (it's ancient) but has only 2 connectors at the back - I think they are white and yellow - audio and not sure what the other one is.
Can I get a converter to allow the PS to work from an old TV like this?

Are you sure that they're not left and right audio out?

Presumably the TV also has a coaxial aerial RF in connector? Maybe you can get an adaptor allowing you to connect the PS2 to this?

They could well be, it's very old.

I don't know much at all about electronics or tv's, have googled but it's all going over my head. Might try ringing an electronics or gaming shop and see if they can suggest anything.
 
I Googled "PS2 to RF" and came up with which seems to include various products and tips that might be relevant. Presumably you can get these on eBay too.

Given that the potential savings on these low cost items are fairly small, you might be as well going with a local store where they might/should (check when buying) exchange the item if it doesn't work.

You should be able to bring the PS2 cable with you so they know exactly what you need (and possibly a pic on a phone/camera of the connections available on the TV) to ensure what you get does the job you require.
 
I think I'll try locally first alright; I haven't ventured beyond some infrequent browsing on e-bay, and my credit card might stay healthier if I don't get set up with Paypal etc.. less temptation!

I find it easier/cheaper to check what specific item I need first and then buy it on the likes of eBay. Good/reputable sellers will usually answer any questions about the item that you have (e.g. about compatibility). I also find it handy to have things delivered to my home/work. In this case it's almost certain that the original poster needs a simple PS2 to RF connector/modulator so there shouldn't be much mystery or risk involved...
 
I know I have a PS running on a portable at home only using the white and yellow leads-not sure exactly but I'll have a look when I go home.1 is video and the other is Audio.The TV is a Sony about 12 years old.
 
Even old or basic Sony TVs often had a good range of connectors including AV inputs.
 
I tried this with just the two cables as suggested above, and it is working fine. Mini-me is a very happy camper.

Eh? What exactly did you do? I thought that all you had was the PS2 with its 3 connectors and a TV with a coaxial RF aerial input. Did you get one of the modulator devices to connect the two?
 
I'm not sure. I said there were two coloured sockets - one white and one yellow - and PS uses 3 - white, yellow, red. There is also a normal arial socket is that the RF you're referring to?
I just plugged in the white and yellow as suggested by pennypincher, and it is working fine. No additional devices. I'm not sure if one or two controllers are attached at the moment - it may happen that only one controller will work?
But the main thing is that we have something working for now, and a bit of peace for me...
 
Sorry - I thought that the TV only had a coaxial aerial RF input - I forgot about the other connections at the back which I thought might be audio OUT. Good to hear that you got it sorted!
