VAT Threshold

Hello. By the end of the year I will be short of the €37,500 threshold for VAT registration. I am looking at renting a room from Nov under the rent a room scheme. Does anyone know if this type of income is included in the annual turnover when it comes to the Treshold. Rental income is vat exempt. Thanks
