VAT Query - Setting Up Company In Oz - Importing From Ireland

I'm moving to Oz next week. I'm currently selling my company here & looking to set up another company over there. It's an advertising idea & my main expense would be the physical unit which displays the advertising. They cost around 400 Euro each here. I'll look into sourcing these in Australia but at the moment I'm drawing blanks. If I proceed with the idea I'll be buying 100 of these units. Am I right in saying that when an Irish Company exports outside the EU that they have to charge the appropriate VAT rate? As a company, set up in Australia, can I reclaim this VAT? Also, would an additional duty be placed on the product when I import them into Australia? I appreciate that I'm being a bit specific in refering to Australia. At the same time, if anyone has an idea it would be good to hear.

IIRC you will have to pay import duties and GST in Oz, but the irish company would (should) not charge you VAT
