Using holidays for redundancy notice

Companies are legally bound to give you notice of redundancy .

Can they make you take your holiday entitlements in this phase, or do they pay you for them ??

I no expert here, but once you have agreement of employer. You will have to be paid for any unused holiday's not taken at leaving date.

If you dont take holidays, You could pay higher tax on last cheque but you can claim back the tax in a few months when you need extra money
 
If you can, it is better to take your outstanding holidays off, as if you take the money, you will be taxed on it as if it were overtime. True, if you remain out of work, you can claim your tax back, but dont be waiting on it. I am 68 and redundant, no hope of working again and I am still waiting for my tax rebate.
