My husband is a teacher and the main earner, since the start of 2015 (2 wages) he is paying €42 a week more USC that means we would be down €84 a month, whichever we can I'll afford. Would this be correct?
A whole lot more detail would be needed before anyone could answer that.
1.Husbands gross per year/week/fortnight
2.Does he/you /family have a medical card
3.What was the total amount of USC paid on last years wages and the gross for the year
Thank u for replies.only have p60 for 2013 pay for USC purposes was 60319 ( no change in pay since). Total USC for 2013 was 3541. Forthrightly pay is €2229 at present and USC is now €123 a forth night. Was €81 prior to new yr. yes we have medical card. Rang payroll and tax office and received no help....maddening.
I think you're getting your numbers mixed up a bit here desparate. According to the rates on [broken link removed] €123 every fortnight on a wage of €2229 (which equates to a salary of €57954) is correct. You say the total USC for 2013 was €3541 - this equates to just over €135 every fortnight so I'm not sure where you're getting the €81 from - was that maybe a correction in his last statement of 2014 only?
We were just onto tax office again, they explained we were on the wrong rates last yr, they were allowing us for havin medical card but as my husband earned just over €60000 we should have been on normal USC not the reduced rate. We are now on correct rates which is why it has increased and we now also owe tax office around €1600....devastated to say the least:-(
