Hello all,

I live in a 5 year old 3 bed semi d.

I have 2 toilets upstairs and one downstairs.

After flushing the downstairs one it refills and is ready to flush again in minutes.

The ones upstairs take ages to fill up after flushing. One is not too bad but one literally takes days to fill up.

Everything was good until the recent big freeze. I am wondering if the local authority has reduced pressure to house and that this is causing my problem. I had no leaks whatsoever in my house.

Any advice on what could be wrong would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Sounds like it could be your pressure. Do you notice any difference in cold water tap upstairs?

Toilet downstairs is probably fed from the mains so it fills quickly. Toilets upstairs are probably fed from tank in attic. Unlikely to be a mains pressure problem. The ballcocks in the toilets could be partically blocked and need cleaning.

Good point. OP, if your LA (like mine) was turning the water off to carry out repairs in the area, then chances are that some dirt and grit will have entered the supply during the repair. This may have contributed towards blocking the valve.
