Is there any obligation on an employee to let his employer know if he is going on holidays while out on unpaid sick leave (on disability benefit)?

I see I have had no response to this query. However can anybody even suggest as to where I can go to find this out?

There is no obligation on you. Your employer has no interest in what you do (or not do) while on unpaid sick leave.

No obligation at all - you are simply unfit for work. However, you do need to keep submiting your certs when they are due and abide by the provisions of the sick leave policy.

But surely if I went to say the US for 5-6 weeks while out on sick leave (unpaid) there would be some onus on me to inform my employer????

Hi
Just because you are able to go on holidays would not make you fit for work.

that states you should inform your employer if you are going on holidays
Is that any use?
If you are still worried, you could email from the above link for further information to clarify this for you?
