Hi
My mum works for the Heath Service as a home help. She recently has found out that her wages have been incorrect for about a year - When she pointed out this anomly to the wages officer in charge she eventually got a back date payment but only in respect of this year.
She is owed about 50 hours from last year that she was not paid for .
She is partially at fault for not checking her wages correctly but she has always submitted correct time sheets ( these time sheets must never have been looked at my the wages dept) . The wages clerk in question has indicated that she cannot go back to last year to pay her for those hours as the budget is complete for that year .
I am annoyed that she can say this - do they by law have to pay her for the unpaid hours from last year? How should she proceed?
