Hi I wasn't sure what title to use. I live with my boyfriend and i have a son and we also have a child together, both young children. Both of us would like to leave our house to our children. My main concern is if I predecease my partner that he will be unable to leave a share of the property to my son without tax implications. I would hate to think that one of my children would be penalised while the other wouldn't.

Can I make a will stating if I predecease partner that I can leave my half share of our house to my son but giving my partner a right of residency.... I'm so very confused.

How is your house owned? Jointly as joint tenants? Or as tenants in common, or is one of you sole owner?

There are ways of setting up trust wills that can address your worry but a chat with a good property/probate solicitor would probably be a good starting point.
