Thinking of cancelling my union membership which is 20.37 a month ie: 244.44 euros a year but yet I get a tax credit of 70.00 euros for it - is it just a simple case of maths here and a saving can be made - can someone please confirm? Thanks.

It is simple maths.
You pay €244 - Revenue gives you back €70 - overall cost is €174

Pay NIL - cost NIL

If you are a member at any time during the year you get the €70. Cancel subscrition now - pay €81 - Revenue gives you back €70 - cost €11
