Un-registering from self employment

Can anyone advise me on the process to un-register from self-employment.
I am a bricklayer on the c.i.s scheme but have no work, i am going on a trip round the world with my savings, how do i de-register so i am no longer self employed and dont have to pay national insurance. thanks.
 
You just need to complete revenue's cancellation form. Just checked their website, the form is called TRCN1.
