UK summons to attend coroner's court in UK ;not in the financial position to do this

Hi - a family member living in Ireland has received a summons asking him to attend at a coroner's court in the UK.
This means getting 3 days off work and flying back to the UK to attend.
He is not in the financial position to do any of this.
Does anyone know if he has to go?

It is not something you can be extradicted for so I wouldn't worry too much. Send them a letter stating the facts and take it from there.
