UK state pension - filling out the CF83 and have a few questions..

Apologies if this has already been asked - finding it difficult to find in posts but would be grateful for any assistance...
I have been notified that I have 5 qualifying years and am eligible to buy back 18 years and buy forward to retirement but say that I need to pay class 3.
However I worked in the UK over and back in the late 80's/ early 90's some paying NI contributions and some not ( or I have no records) I believe that since I was working directly before leaving the UK and went to work in Ireland straight after and am still working in Ireland that I should be paying Class 2.
I am about to fill out the form CF83 online and would appreciate if I could find out: Will I have to make a payment by the time I reach the end of filling the form? 2. Is there a space on the form to put my case about Class 2? or 3. Should I send the form by registered post in order to make my case re: Class 2
I would appreciate any help with this.
Thanks a million.

To be honest, the answer is exactly the same for everyone and has been posted again and again.

Complete the form, online if you've registered, or print and post by recorded delivery.

You'll get a letter back with all the details; if you agree with the assessment, you're done, pay the money.

If you don't agree, appeal.

But right now just complete the form and get it in.

Verify your ID first using the GOVUK ID check app. You need your passport to do this. Complete the CF83 form online for a faster response. There is space at the end of the form to put your case about class 2. Good luck.

Thanks so much for your replies. I really appreciate it. I'll get the form in tonight.
Thanks again.

This is from the online but doesn't seem to be on the hardcopy, at the risk of sounding thick which is the right answer particularly if applying for Class 2?, only EU seems true for me

Do any of these apply?

Select all that apply
You want to pay for the current tax year and then future years by Direct Debit
You are employed and your employer pays your gaps
You are a Volunteer Development worker and your employer pays your gaps
You have paid 3 years of social security contributions in an EU country, Gibraltar, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland or Turkey
or
None of the above
Continue

If you're seeking to pay contributions for past years perhaps none of the above is the appropriate answer?

Think I picked the right one as after a few questions it followed the hard copy format and asked me for all employments in Ireland etc. I will send my PRSI records by hard copy.

Unless anybody else knows different?

Can I ask what proof people are sending of working back in Ireland after returning from UK? I did subbing work for the first few months

Just filling it in now. Do I not need supporting documentation? Maybe the form on its own will suffice.
You don't need to send supporting documentation, unless it is requested of you later. I just put down that I started working for the department of education in Sept 1992 after my return in August 92 and my application was accepted.
