I work for a UK company remotely from Ireland, the UK company is a wholly owned subsidiary of an American company listed on the NASDAQ, and both are in profit. We used to get company cars in Ireland up until about 4 or 5 years ago, but for the last few years we went a mileage route instead and used our own cars. We have decided to go back to getting company cars, but dealerships are now telling us that the credit laws over the last 18 months have made it impossible for non Irish registered companies with employees in Ireland to get contract hire lease cars, as the company has no trading/credit record in Ireland, and no director in Ireland. Has anyone had similar experiences, or do you think we are just being fobbed off ?
