So I have a number of questions, don't know if anybody can answer them.
My deceased wife worked in the UK for a few years and I unexpectedly received a small monthly Widowed Parents Allowance (now called Bereavement Benefit I believe) from the UK Gov International Pension Centre until my youngest reaches 16 or 20 assuming she goes to college.
I have no knowledge of where she worked or the prsi contributions she made in the UK as it was well before we met and I wouldn't have known about the bereavement payment except for Revenue here suggesting I make an application to see if it was available to me.
The questions I have are
(1) whether the UK pension is only available to the person who worked in the UK or is there a widower pension payment?
(2) if the answer is yes to widower pension payment - is it too late to apply?
(3) if the answer is yes to widower pension and not too late to apply, where/how would I start this process
Hope this makes sense
Thanks in advance.
