Ladies & gents

If you have enough contributions is it possible to get the full UK state pension & full Irish state pension too?

How much contributions is considered enough to get both? I moved from the UK to Ireland in 2020. I have full contributions in the UK from 2004-2020 and I have made class 2 voluntary overseas contributions to HMRC to cover years 2021-2024 and will continue making these voluntary contributions on an annual basis for as long as I'm living in Ireland. I have worked in the Public Sector in Ireland since 2020. I kind of assumed it would only be possible to get a full state pension in both places if I remaining living and working in Ireland until I retire? If in the future I eventually moved back to the UK, is it possible to make voluntary contributions towards an Irish pension?

You can't buy Irish pensions the same way you can buy UK. So to get full pension in both the route likely only to work in UK early in career, move to Ireland top up and get the full entitlement over time in UK, whilst working normally away in Ireland to get the 40 years here. I kinda have that but might struggle to get the full Irish
