UK banks (other than NR) offering deposit accounts in Ireland

Which UK banks or banks operating in both Ireland & UK (excluding NR) come under the FSA's Deposit protection 'FSCS' (being raised to £35k)? I asked the FSA, but their reply was non-specific and cryptic.

i.e. Are deposit accounts at Ulster bank or Anglo Irish protected under the Irish / EU system of up to 20k, or the UK FSCS, at up 50k?

I read some of the recent threads on NR and Rabo, regarding spreading money around to get the best protection, but didn't see a list etc. Also, is anyone petitioning the Irish Govt on raising the protection limits, as they are in the UK? Thanks

That seems like a good idea. If you start it, I'll sign such a petition.

It would have been a useful exercise during the heat of the crisis! Unfortunately I was too busy helping a relation get their money out of NR! Its such a shame the Irish media didn't pick up on this! All they had to do was refer to the USA's FDIC system, and press a few politicians for comment!
