With UB closing up, thinking of using a combination of the EBS money manager account and N26 for the lowest fees. Can't find much about the EBS account except that it is basic, does any one have experience with this account and it's online banking capabilities?

N26 don't have joint accounts so was thinking of putting in salaries to EBS joint account with main big direct debits there ( mortgage, utilities, insurance, etc) and then individual N26 accounts for food shopping and personal things that can fluctuate and we would like to track on an app.

Is there a better banking combination?

Yeah its extremely limited. You can add beneficiaries, it will take a day for them to be added and then another day to transfer the money. It's not very smooth or intuitive. But its the only local free banking option i think. (operate it on behalf of parent so not aware of charges etc)

The online banks are an option... revolut/N26

Only thing is you can't lodge cash and there are a number of limitations on the accounts

Even if slow, adding beneficiaries can all be done online, right? Is there any need to darken the door of a branch for day to day services which other banks support online?
