First post, and apologies if this has been asked previously (I did a very quick search and didn't find this exact query)
I have two part-time contracts, which will both finish at the end of May. I will likely be unemployed over the Summer, and then have similar contracts from September until May next year.
The first job pays about 1600 a month, while the second job pays approx 700 a month. Mandatory pension contributions of around 100 a month from that.
I'd like advice on how to split my tax credit between the two jobs, and how being unemployed during the summer affects the tax (i.e. tax seems to be deducted based on a 12-monthly division of my yearly tax credit, even though I won't be working for 3 months). Can I claim back tax in June when I am unemployed? Approximately how much tax should I be paying from that?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
