Tumble Dryer not drying clothes

My tumble dryer is not drying the clothes properly. The filter is fine. Never had this problem with it before - it's a 7 year old Hotpoint. Wasn't overloaded, just normal load but still came out only half-dry after 2 hours, where it would have taken 40 minutes before.

Any advice appreciated. Thanks.
 
There is an easily (usually) replaceable coil in the back of the dryer which may be damaged - it heats like a two bar heater. You can ring parts dept of Hotpoint in Dublin to get part posted and just replace yourself.
 
Have you checked the little red button on the back of the machine to see if it is out (re-set button).

That's the sort of part you need if the dryer is not heating or taking forever.

Do check the outlet though in case it is blocked or if you have a spring loaded back draught excluder in the outlet that it hasn't malfunctioned.
