Hi all,
new to the site and a bit clueless so I'm looking for some advice.
I'm a first-time buyer in Dec 08 and made the first mortgage payment in Jan 09. When I checked the bank account recently I saw that out TRS has decreased and when I rang the revenue to investigate they said we had moved into year 3 of our TRS. I couldn't understand this so I rang the bank who told me they applied interest to our account 10 days after draw-down, which put activity onto our account therefore that started the TRS.
I'm really annoyed with this as it means we lose a whole year's worth of TRS (amounting to about 2,500euro at the interest rate at the moment) and I just need a bit of advice on what to do. Work collegues have told me to write to the bank manager, financial ombudsman and mortgage department of the bank.
Also I want to move our mortgage out of the bank we are with now because it has been one mistake after another with them at its the straw that broke the camels back, so will moving mortgage provider affect our TRS?
Sorry for the long post
Thanks
