TRS enquiry

Hi,
I bought an apartment last year. I am a first time buyer and live in the apartment I'm currently receiving TRS mortgage relief. If I was to go travelling for a year and rent out my apartment can I stop TRS for the year and claim it again when I come back?

In other words I would love to know is it ok for me to go traveling and not have to worry for the year, if I rent it out to others.

Any help would be great.

If you're genuinely travelling from place to place around the world for just a year your house may still be your PPR I think. I know (for example) that if you had a close family member in the house it could remain your PPR.

I would like to know about this too. What is the situation if the apartment is rented to strangers for the year? Are you not entitled to the TRS during the year you are away but can get it again on your return?
