TRS calculation

Hi.

2nd time owner-occupier
Paying mortgage for the last 8 months without claiming TRS.
Claimed recently and have been given a TRS credit of 84 euro from 25th March.
Bank also contacts me and states they will be crediting my mortgage account for 160 euro.

By my calculations I should be owed about 8*84=672 in backdated TRS and not 160

Hope this makes sense. Plan to ring Revenue but would appreciate your input

You need to claim for last year directly from Revenue. Your bank can only back date the TRS for the current tax year.

Just to add, Revenues claim forms for 05 are not online and you need to ring 1890 463626 to get a form sent out

To claim for last year you just need to send in your 2005 P60 and interest certificate from your bank with a covering note explaining that you didn't get TRS on your mortgage last year and would like it refunded now.
