Hi, im just wondering how do I calculate Trs. My husband brought his first property in 2001 and we then brought a house together in 2005 (this was my first time buying house) So what im wondering is how do we calcuate trs, i would still be first time buyer but my husband is not, or does it mean because we are married i am no longer 1st time buyer for trs purposes because I brought with my husband???

As far as I know, the TRS will be calculated using your husbands details.

Could be wrong though.

ok

so you have a combined ceiling of 13,000.00

your husband has a % of 15% on interest
you have a % of 22.5% on interest

lets just say you will pay 10000.00 interest this year.
it will be split as such

your husband will get 2307.69
you will get 7692.31

the above are for cal purposes
you then multiply the portion of interest by the rate applicable to you

so
your husband will get 2307.69 * 15% = 346.15
you will get 7692.31 * 22.5% = 1730.77

these are totals for the year so add them up = 2076.92
then divide by 12 = 173.07

now the above are based on an interest figure i pulld from the air

but it shows you how the revenue will calc the trs for you
