this website and been a big eye opener, however I realised I may be in a spot of bother....
I have been receiving TRS for my apartment for 10 months however as I have been renting it out I want to return it to revenue. (I did register with the PRTB but dropped the ball on all the rest of it, I could kick myself)
I am wondering if the TRS cancellation form on revenue’s website can just be filled in with a back date and they will reply with the amount due or if I should call them? ( I am also wondering if they might apply a penalty and if anyone has had experience with this)
Also, I am looking to move back into my apartment in 2 months, can I just pay the money back and not cancel the TRS as it will be valid again shortly?
Finally I also think I need to submit a form 12 for 2013, my rental income less deductions makes a loss for me, I want to submit this but don’t know if I should wait until the TRS issue is resolved?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
