Filing for income tax year 2009. i was PAYE + self-employed for 2009, though didn't earn any income from self-employment (forgot to de-register myself for self-employment hence the need to file income tax)
I came across a section in form 11 re claim for expenses. i claim for motoring expenses previous year that incurred from my self-employment.
Now I'm wondering if i can claim for motoring/traveling expenses incurred while i was employed by my company? Though not often but i make about ~10-15 business trips (about 30-60 mins drive each, pay for parking fees etc) for the company to few specific places to deliver my duties. My employer didn't reimburse me.

Also, my other half use his own mobile phone for his work purpose as well. can he claim for allowance/tax-relief?

By the way, we both have flat rate expenses-does this make any difference? i read that it covers the equipments/uniform we need for our job, but didn't mention re travel expenses/mobile phone usage.
Thanks.

The flat rate bascially covers this without mentioning it.

I dont think you could defend claiming the travel or phone in tax return.

Only claim you can make is go back to your employer and explain expenses incurred and see will they reimburse you
