Transporting a car from Spain to Ireland

Thanks everyone for your contributions. and mathepac for your very comprehensive check list - all great advice that I will pass on to my friend.
As regards parking, the lady has arranged long-term parking rates with a private parking company at the airport so hopefully it is still where she left it! She is currently arranging a trip to Spain to check on the car with a view to bringing it home. Will post an update when all is completed.

Just to add, I don't know if those cars use timing belts or timing chains; if they're belts look at replacing belt and tensioner too - they won't survive that time in the baking heat too well.
