Translation: cv from english to french

I am looking for a translator specialised in financial services to translate my cv from english to french. I work as a fund accountant in a bank.

I wouldn't recommend Google Translate or anything of that type for something as important as a CV. I used to use it for French-English and German-English translations to give me a quick and dirty translation of documents and given the quality of the English that was returned, there's no way you could use it for a CV without coming across as totally illiterate.

To the OP, a translation agency is probably your best bet - sorry I can't recommend one - or failing that, a native speaker of French with good English should be able to help - maybe in one of the universities? Translation should generally be done by someone native in the target language who has a good understanding of the source language, rather than the other way round.

There is Alliance Francaise in Dublin and I think Cork they should be able to help you.

I know a lady who is based in Clare who has many years of translation experience, in fact she is in the process of setting up a formal business. She is a native French speaker and has lived in Ireland for the past 35 years, as wellas translations, she does grinds for university, leaving cert and junior cert students. Her phone number is 065 7081454 - tell her Emily recommended her. She has email and fax facilities so you can send the cv to ehr for translation.

I would not only look for someone to translate your CV, but for someone who can re-work it, so that it is a French CV, rather than an Irish CV in French.
