My partner works for a multi national and although he has been working abroad for the last 7 years, he has been employed on an Irish contract and paying tax here.
he's now being moved to a position in the UK and his contract will change to a UK contract.
The plan is that he will travel back to the UK during the week and home here at weekends but he was wondering if it was more beneficial for him to rent a room in the UK and be considered a UK resident for tax reasons.
We have school going children so relocating the family isn't going to happen but we're wondering what are the tax implications of him residing there rather than here
