transfer from illness benefit to disability benefit

Hi

I have been receiving illness benefit for the last year, nov 08 - nov 09.

I am renting a room.

Can anyone tell me if I would be better off transferring to disability benefit?

I am currently just living off my illness benefit of 204.30 euro per week.

I would like to return to college.

what are my entitlements?

Illness benefit (IB) and disability benefit (DB) are the same thing - IB used to be called DB up to a couple of years ago.

From IB, if you are medically eligible you can transfer to Invalidity Pension (if you've got sufficient PRSI contributions) or Disability Allowance (which is means-tested).
