tourism consultancy- whats the best route?

Im less than twleve months out of University where I did a ba(hons)Tourism Management and have decided that I want to get in the area of tourism consultancy. Am looking for advice to the best way possible to get into this area? Im looking at doing a MA in order to give me the optimum opportunity but if anyone could give me any tips on any other route I would really appreciate it.

Tourism Consultancy is a tough nut to crack, I have been in the Business for many years. It is my experience that you need some project management experience and I would advise making contact with Failte Ireland. I have worked internationally also and its all about making contacts. Furthermore its who you know and not always what you know. Being Versatile, not spending time in one area will also be very important. Hands on Management experience is the Key with an absolute understanding of both the workings of establishments, the Markets you are targeting and sales generally.
