I own a house in Dublin which is rented out for last 7 years. I am renting in Cork and want to sell the house in Dublin and buy in Cork. I have no savings so I need to sell the house in Dublin first to be able to afford to buy in Cork. Who is the best to advise me on the timing of this, tax implications and how best to go about it - a solicitor or a financial advisor? And should they be located in Dublin or Cork - or both?

Hi,

It would sound like sorting out the tenants would be the most important aspect for you to deal with initially. Presumably you are registered with PRTB and will need to give them the required notification.

I could be totally wrong but it would sound to me that a solicitor and estate agents would be your best options. Solicitor could be either Cork or Dublin but you would be better off with 2 agents for their local knowledge. You would only need to choose the one to sell your Dublin property and just deal with the one for the Cork property because you are just buying.

Haggle on fees. You might get some advice on this on some of
