Hi,

I'm currently looking at Timber Frame Manufacturers for a self build in the summer and it looks like Forever Warm Homes from Co.Down are giving the best deal. Has anyone ever used them or have any dealings with them? Dont know too much about them.

No direct experience of them, but I would say this about any kit: if they are using sub-contractors, instead of direct employees, to install, the quality of it's installation will be all down to you.

A lot of subbies are paid on a per sq ft basis, and must supply all their own tools, fixings and subsistence. I came across one such who was despatched to the West from NI on 70/day. And he had to pay his own travel, and finish early to get back home on time.

This is not conducive to quality, on-site. And on-site quality is the single biggest issue with any factory system.

Don't forget cranage: who's organising it, paying for it ? And for how long ? And if it goes over the factories estimated time (say bad weather, high wind), who pays? At Eur 500-600 a day, it won't take long for that to snowball into a huge issue.
