tiles instead of cills?

Hi, a builder suggested that when I replace my windows that Instead of cills, he would use tiles..I havnt heard of this before and would like to know if anyone on aam has heard of this? this would be for upstairs windows,on a new dormer.

My aunt recently had her bathroom redone, and she now has tiles instead of a windowsill. It's perfect for a bathroom, as they're easy to clean and don't need painting. It also looks fabulous. Depending on the decor of the room, they could probably look good elsewhere too.
