It's the tiler who is going to have to stand over the work, so I'd be inclined to go with their opinion. As a matter of interest, is the shop pushing a more expensive option?
It's been noted here many times in the past that tile shops are generally expensive for adhesive and you should probably look to source it in a builders providers.
